Respectively, they sold 1,462 and 370 units last month. What's more, they've been on the market for years longer than the Prius has.

So what does the Toyota Prius Plug-In owe its success to? Some skeptics might say it's beginners luck. We, however, are more inclined to say that its impressive sales bout is thanks to the incredible reputation that Toyota Hybrids have built up over the years. The Prius is, after all, the single most popular and recognizable hybrid in the world.
